This Privacy Policy explains how Source Research (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit sourceresearch.io (the “Site”) or buy from us. It also explains your privacy rights, including your rights under California law.
The Site is for adults aged 21 and over who buy products strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. Our products are not for human or animal consumption.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number.
- Account information: username, password (stored in hashed form), and account preferences, if you create an account.
- Shipping and billing information: shipping address, billing address.
- Order details: products purchased, quantities, order amounts, order history, and your acknowledgment of our age and research-use terms.

- Test Us submissions: lab reports, invoices, photos, and related documents you send us under our Refund Policy.
1.2 Payment information
- Cards and other processor-handled payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers. We may receive limited information from the processor, such as the card type, the last four digits, the expiration date, the transaction status, and a transaction ID.
- Bank transfer and peer-to-peer payments: we may receive the name on the sending account, a payment reference, and the amount and date of the transfer.
- USDC and other crypto payments: we collect the sending and receiving wallet addresses, transaction IDs (hashes), the amount, and the time. Blockchain transactions are recorded on public ledgers that we do not control.
1.3 Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system;
- the pages you view, links you click, referring URLs, and dates and times of visits; and
- your approximate location, based on IP address.
1.4 Information from third parties
We may receive information from service providers, such as delivery status from UPS, payment confirmations from processors, and analytics data.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We use the following types.
2.1 Essential cookies
These are needed for the Site to work. They support your shopping cart, checkout, login sessions, and security. WooCommerce and WordPress set cookies of this kind. If you block them, the Site may not work properly.
2.2 Age-verification cookie (`sr_verified`)
When you confirm that you are 21 or older and that you accept our research-use-only terms, we set a cookie named `sr_verified`. It records that you made this confirmation so we do not have to ask again on every visit. It does not contain your name or contact details. If you delete it, we will ask you to confirm again.
2.3 Analytics cookies
We use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve it. These tools may collect your IP address, device information, and browsing activity on the Site. We use this information only for analytics, not for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To opt out of analytics:
- install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on;
- change your browser settings to block or delete cookies; or
- use a browser or extension that sends a Global Privacy Control signal (see Section 10).
To learn how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- process, fulfill, ship, and track orders;
- process payments and refunds, and prevent fraud;
- verify age and our research-use-only terms, and enforce them;
- create and manage accounts;
- answer questions and provide customer support;
- review Test Us claims and publish results, with personal information removed;
- send transactional messages, such as order confirmations, shipping notices, and policy updates;
- send marketing emails, where you have chosen to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email);
- analyze and improve the Site, our products, and our services;
- maintain security and prevent abuse; and
- comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, respond to legal requests, and protect our rights.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only as described below.
4.1 Service providers
We share information with service providers that perform services for us. They may use it only to provide those services. They include:
- website hosting and infrastructure providers;
- WooCommerce and related e-commerce plugins and services;
- UPS, for shipping and delivery;
- payment processors and payment-related services;
- email service providers, for transactional and marketing emails; and
- analytics providers, such as Google Analytics.
4.2 Legal and safety
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process. We may also disclose it to protect the rights, property, or safety of Source Research, our customers, or others, or to prevent fraud or illegal activity.
4.3 Business transfers
If there is a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
4.4 No sale or sharing for advertising
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Order and transaction records: about 7 years, to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements.
- Account information: for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Communications and Test Us submissions: as long as needed to resolve the matter and maintain business records.
- Analytics data: according to the retention settings of our analytics provider.
- Cookies: for the periods set by each cookie, or until you delete them.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or de-identify it.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and the use of established payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account and keep it confidential.
7. Children and Age Requirement
The Site and our products are intended only for adults aged 21 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 21, we will delete it and close any related account. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us at support@sourceresearch.io.
8. Your Privacy Rights (California)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, “CCPA”), gives you the rights described below, to the extent the law applies. We also welcome privacy requests from residents of other states and will consider them in line with applicable law.
8.1 Categories of information
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described in Sections 1 and 3:
- identifiers, such as name, email, phone number, address, IP address, and wallet address;
- customer records and commercial information, such as order history and limited payment information;
- internet or other electronic network activity, such as browsing and Site interaction data;
- approximate geolocation, based on IP address; and
- age-related information, namely your confirmation that you are 21 or older.
We have disclosed these categories for business purposes to the service providers listed in Section 4.1. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would give you the right to limit its use under the CCPA.
8.2 Your rights
- Right to know and access: to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
- Right to delete: to request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions. For example, we may keep order records needed for tax or legal compliance.
- Right to correct: to request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a way to opt out.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. For example, we will not deny you goods, charge you different prices, or give you a lower quality of service for doing so.
8.3 How to submit a request
You can submit a request by:
- Email: support@sourceresearch.io, with the subject line “Privacy Request”
Please say which right you want to exercise, and give your name and the email address you used with us.
8.4 Verification
To protect your information, we must verify your identity before acting on a request to know, delete, or correct. We will usually do this by matching information you provide, such as your name, email address, and order details, against our records. We may ask for more information if needed. We will use information provided for verification only for that purpose.
8.5 Authorized agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request for you. The agent must give us signed written permission from you, or a valid power of attorney. We may also ask you to verify your identity directly with us and to confirm that you gave the agent permission.
8.6 Response timing
We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days. We will respond within 45 days of receiving it. If we need more time, we may extend this by up to another 45 days, as the law allows. If we do, we will tell you and explain why. You may make a request to know up to twice in a 12-month period.
9. Your Choices
- Marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us. We will still send transactional messages about your orders.
- Cookies: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop the Site from working properly.
- Account information: you can update some information in your account settings, or contact us for help.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track: there is no common industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): we treat a valid GPC signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser. Because we do not sell or share personal information, we already meet that request. Where technically feasible, we also use a GPC signal to turn off non-essential analytics cookies for that browser.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on the Site and change the effective date above. If the changes are material, we may also notify you by email or with a notice on the Site.
12. Contact Us
